Project Overview
Design and construction of shade shelters for the Aurukun community splash park. This remote community project delivered durable, cyclone-rated structures providing shade and shelter for families in one of Australia's most remote locations.
The Challenge
Aurukun is located on the western coast of Cape York Peninsula, presenting extreme logistical challenges. All materials and equipment required transport over unsealed roads, and the structures needed to withstand cyclone-level wind loads.
Our Solution
Sail Structures leveraged their extensive remote community experience to deliver pre-engineered shelter structures. The design incorporated cyclone-rated connections and marine-grade materials suited to the harsh coastal environment.
